In 2015 we are offering an exciting season of full immersion programs for adults (and minors accompanied by a parent/guardian), mostly embarking from Westport, Massachusetts*. Participants sail and camp in boats with just one, or at most two others, making this a great activity to share. Gift vouchers are valid for two years.

camp ashore Westport* Weekend - An introduction to the basic skills of handling small boats on the picturesque Westport River*. Saturday morning we begin to explore the estuary, practicing rowing, tiller steering and boat safety. In the afternoon we hoist sails and learn to sail together. By evening we anchor the boats off a beach, rig cockpit tents for sleeping, and check the weather and predicted currents. Sunday morning we study coastwise navigation, and embark on a mini-cruise. Dates marked with an ≈ will be geared towards gaining skills for more challenging circumstances.

at anchorEight Day Voyage - A coastal cruise, ideal for those who have either taken another course with us, or have other sufficient sailing experience, though there is room for greenhorns. The first day of this trip is spent refreshing returning sailors, getting any novices oriented, and considering our options for a weeklong trip given forecast winds and currents. Once the group reaches consensus on a sailing plan and boat assignments, anything is possible! The first of these trips will begin in Westport, MA, and the second end there. Whether they are each round trips or one-way coastal journeys depends.*

*If you are coming from (or going to) points west and south, book trips between July 18th and the end of August—with sufficient down-coast sailors we hope to begin and/or end those trips at the outer fringe of NYC commuter rail.
